10-01-09, the first day of fixing what 3rd shift F'ed up!

Sep. 30th, 2009 | 11:33 pm
location: United States, Ohio, North Royalton
mood: determineddetermined
music: none, except the song in my head!

So, my sorry self gained weight. See, I started working because we needed me to. Third shift seemed the most logical solution at the time (more about how wrong I was soon). I gained weight due to not knowing when the heck to eat and sleep and eating poorly due to my poor body being all f'ed up by the change. I went from not working for 2 1/2 years to working full time for a bit (store was new and they worked me more than I wanted at first). It was an insane time and I just ate whatever whenever because my body and mind couldn't make heads or tails of life.
So, I'm going to start using this fun DVD I bought to dance to (I figured if I'm going to work out, it has to be fun and something the kids can do too), and start tracking EVERYTHING.
This little blog will have all of my stats, weight and measurements, as well as what (and when) I'm eating and exercising. It's not just going to be boring and about that stuff. If I find a fun recipe I'll be sharing it here. Or a good shopping trip! Nothing like taking a $53 grocery bill and paying $16.99 after coupons!
I'm on the quick ride to 35 so I really need to focus more on getting myself into health. With a strong family history of heart disease, cancer, and dementia/alzheimers it is vitally important to get and keep myself in as good a health as I can so that I may hopefully avoid those things!

My puppy

Jun. 20th, 2008 | 03:49 pm
mood: amusedamused

He is so funny. He is getting close to 5 months old and he is so strange. He runs and runs laps all around the house. He tries to dance for his water/food/treats. He is so very loving toward me
(it is so sweet), he treats me like I'm his mommy. Josalyn gets a little jealous of Hercules trying to get my attention, which is hilarious. Right now he is cuddled up in the chair with me.
So, even when the girls don't want to snuggle with mom, I at least have the dog!
Now if only he would listen better... but I could also say the same of the kids.

Summer!

Jun. 19th, 2008 | 12:37 pm
mood: contentcontent

I am so happy that summer is here! Baby is running around in coverless prefolds and loving it. Both of the girls love being outside and playing, running in the grass or playing at the playground. I love summer and warmer weather. The cold is something I can't take, I freeze quite easily. I love the sun and the trees being green. I love the grass and the warm breeze. I love walking to the grocery store with the baby in the wagon and my big girl walking next to me. I love being outside!!!
My husband is so cute. He is getting antsy to do work around our condo! We are redoing bathrooms soon, he can't wait to get started. We have got the tile, the vanity/sinktop/mirror combo, the faucet, towel ring, and the toilet paper holder is on order. We have looked at lights and just have to pick one up. I'm so glad he is so handy. Oh, we also have the paint for one bathroom. All we have to do is get the grout (the 2 half baths will have the same tile) and a vanity/sinktop, faucet, paint, medicine cabinet, light, towel ring, toilet paper holder and toilet for the other. It sounds like a lot, but with my husband being able to do all of the work, it isn't that bad. Now to pick out those items and see how much it'll be. No super cheapo stuff, no expensive stuff.
I can't wait to see our 1/2 baths looking all great!

Watching old ER and crying

Nov. 7th, 2007 | 12:00 pm

Well, recently they reran the episode of ER on TNT titled Midnight. It is one of the most heartbreaking episodes of a TV program that I have ever seen. For those unfamiliar with the episode, it is the one where Dr Carter and Kem's baby was stillborn. It aired (the rerun) right around the time of Loralei's birthday... which is the day after a friend's son was stillborn (Kyle was born 11-4-03). I hope that she missed it. As it is, she cannot come to Loralei's parties because it just hurts her so much. I hate that seeing my little girl hurts her. I wish Loralei had Kyle around to play with. K is such an amazing lady, she is so incredibly sweet and wonderful with Loralei. I would trust her with my children, and I do not trust many people with them. It just broke my heart to watch that show and be reminded of K's pain. The father of her son however, wasn't there when he was born. The asshole broke up with her. So, on top of losing her baby, she lost everything (or so she thought). What she did gain though, was a closer friendship with my 'aunt'. Sharon was there with her through everything. She held her hand and comforted her, she encouraged her when she didn't think she could make it through. A deep and lasting friendship was born the day Kyle died. I believe he is with Jesus and watching over his mommy.
I believe every baby serves a purpose in this world, even if they never get to see it. Kyle has given his mommy a family that she needed and she also now has a respect for herself that she never had before. That can never replace her son I know, but his legacy is that he made an impact. So Kyle, thank you. I never got to know you, but I have gotten to know and love your mommy. She misses you and always will, and I miss that I never got to know you. I am grateful for you Kyle, for you have done so much for your mommy. I hope you know that she loves you so much. You made a lasting impact in this world.
To all of the people I know who have lost a baby to stillbirth, I do not know your pain, but I do know that your children have made an impact in this world.

Busy busy life

Nov. 7th, 2007 | 11:49 am
mood: groggygroggy

Well, since the last time I posted-
Loralei turned 4! That was November 5th. She is such a sweet big girl who had the bad luck of having the flu for her birthday. We did go see Bee Movie and she loved it. So, at least the flu didn't keep her from doing something she wanted on her big day.
Josalyn is in cloth full time! She is loving it and for a person who hates to do laundry... I love diaper laundry!!! It is fun and addicting and I wish I had discovered cloth when Loralei was is dipes.
I think I have hit my first bump in breastfeeding baby. My poor boob is sore and warm. Guess I just have to make my non stop nursing machine nurse more! I may pump some for Loralei so that maybe she can get an immunity boost.
I think my friendship with the girl o' many abortions is starting to heal. I love her and it hurt to be her friend because of them. But I really just did not want to loose the only friend who stood by me when I was pregnant with Loralei and a single mom to be and scared. I know she has issues and I hope this new med they put her on will help.
Oh, almost forgot! Josalyn can stand on her own for a number of seconds in a row. Until she realizes she is doing it and falls down! She is a sweet good natured baby, who is usually laid back. She does have her daddy's temper though! When she really ants something she will yell until she gets it!
That's it for my updating. I have other things in mind but will do a sep. post.

Just bought some cloth dipe covers!

Sep. 13th, 2007 | 09:17 pm
mood: ecstaticecstatic

Off of Ebay! They are Imse Vimse. I still need to buy some prefolds and snappis, but I actually made a commitment and took the plunge... I was also looking up how to make covers! I can use MIL's awesome sewing machine, and GMIL can watch the girls whilst I make them! Woot cloth! Oh, and hubby was easy to convince, looks like I need a few fuzzi buns for him to use when I am at RCIA class! Or an AIO that will be mega simple for him to use.
I am so doing this!

Looking at making the swich to cloth

Sep. 13th, 2007 | 01:53 pm
location: my couch
mood: curiouscurious

Baby girl deserves cloth, and I am reading up about it. I hate the idea of these sposies, when she pees into them, they smell funny! I know it isn't her, because when she has been diaperless and peed it doesn't smell like that. After reading a bit I think I am looking at prefolds, snappies, and cute covers.
I have less than 300 sposies left in my stash... so, I need to read up now and work on the cloth!

My baby is the teething champion!

Sep. 9th, 2007 | 12:28 am
mood: amusedamused

Josalyn had a busy teething month... er three weeks... er NINETEEN DAYS! My youngest Got her third tooth August 16th, fourth August 20th... and then got tooth #5 September 3rd and her 6th the following day! How crazy is that! Oh, and the day before she decided to start to crawl! All that in before she turned 8 months. I took her for pics at JC Penney on her month day (the fifth) and can't wait to be able to share some of those. She was fantastic.
Loralei is such a trip. Whenever her little sis fusses she yells out 'Jossie needs booby milk'! She is right most of the time, it is just too cute. She asked for some for herself the other day, so I pulled out the pump, She weaned long enough ago that she doesn't remember nursing. I think the milk may have helped since she was starting to get my cold from hell and it seemed to just stop suddenly. She has an obsession with my poor boobs of late. Guess they are just saggy enough to be amusing! I think the cat and longing for a dog are more of an obsession for her, but when she is bored... Ooooh, her baby dolls even get to nurse! She figures when you are a mommy you have to nurse them. I hope she gets some to nurse one day for real :-) .

Teeth!

Aug. 23rd, 2007 | 10:22 am
location: On my living room floor
music: Baby crying

Josalyn has four teeth now! She just got #4 yesterday. She now has both bottom front teeth and two top teeth... but they are not the fronts they are the ones on the side. She is working on her two front teeth too. It is crazy how fast these teeth are coming compared to big sis!
I just can't believe how fast this first year is going! Next thing I know she will be walking and Loralei will be turning FOUR (in November) and Josalyn will be one... Must medicate the baby now... Hylands tabs rock!
